MVrix raises ₩8B Series B for Navibody targeted mRNA delivery and in-vivo CAR-T

MVrix Closes ₩8 Billion Series B

South Korean biotech MVrix (엠브릭스) has raised a ₩8 billion Series B round. The round included participation from Korea Omega Investment Corporation, Korea Investment Partners, Seoul National University Technology Holdings, InterVest, Eyegene and LifeCore Partners. No single lead investor was disclosed.

What MVrix Does

Founded in 2021 and led by CEO Jeong Sang-won (정상원), MVrix builds protein-engineering therapeutics around targeted delivery. The company's core platform, Navibody, couples antibodies to lipid nanoparticles (LNP) so that therapeutic mRNA can be delivered selectively to specific immune cells inside the body.

That platform underpins the company's lead in-vivo CAR-T program, MIC-001, which is aimed at autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Pipeline and Partnerships

Beyond MIC-001, MVrix has a second program, MBT-002, a recombinant botulinum toxin candidate. The cosmetic rights to MBT-002 were licensed to Eyegene in 2025 — and Eyegene is also an investor in this Series B round.

The company reports a roughly 80-patent IP portfolio and a 20-plus partner R&D network since its founding.

The Round

  • Round type: Series B
  • Amount: ₩8,000,000,000
  • Investors: Korea Omega Investment Corporation, Korea Investment Partners, Seoul National University Technology Holdings, InterVest, Eyegene, LifeCore Partners
  • Announced: September 4, 2026

Why It Matters

In-vivo CAR-T is an area of active interest because it aims to deliver CAR-T therapy directly inside the body rather than through ex vivo manufacturing, which is complex and costly. MVrix's Navibody platform targets a specific technical challenge: getting mRNA payloads to the right immune cells using antibody-guided LNPs.

If the approach works in autoimmune indications like SLE, it could open a broader set of targets beyond oncology, where most CAR-T development has concentrated.

The Series B brings together a mix of institutional investors and strategic participation from Eyegene, which already holds cosmetic rights to MVrix's botulinum toxin program. That existing relationship adds a commercial dimension to the cap table alongside the company's therapeutic pipeline.

For acquisition watchers, MVrix offers a targeted delivery platform, a lead in-vivo CAR-T asset in autoimmune disease, a partnered botulinum toxin program and a substantial patent estate — a combination relevant to pharma and biotech buyers active in cell therapy, mRNA delivery or autoimmune therapeutics.
