DatAIMed raises €1.2M seed led by Maggioli for evidence-based clinical AI platform

DatAIMed, a Turin-based health-tech startup, has raised €1.2 million in seed funding led by Maggioli, with participation from Zooga VC and SocialFare.

What DatAIMed Does

DatAIMed operates an evidence-based AI platform for healthcare professionals. Physicians, researchers and other healthcare professionals can query biomedical literature, clinical guidelines and EMA and AIFA drug databases — as well as their own organisational protocols and procedures — in natural language. Every answer cites verifiable sources.

Documentation and coding automation tools are on the development roadmap.

The platform is designed to support, not replace, clinical decision-making. All data and infrastructure remain inside the EU in line with GDPR and the AI Act.

Traction

DatAIMed reports more than 13,000 registered professionals using the platform, including Italian health authorities, IRCCS research hospitals and clinics.

Company Background

DatAIMed was founded in 2024 by Dario Taborelli within I3P, the incubator of the Politecnico di Torino. The company is headquartered in Turin.

Acquisition Perspective

The round brings together a strategic lead in Maggioli alongside two venture investors. The cited-source design of the platform — where every answer is traceable to literature, guidelines, drug databases or internal protocols — addresses a core barrier to clinical AI adoption: verifiability. Combined with EU-resident data and infrastructure aligned to GDPR and the AI Act, this positions the product for regulated healthcare buyers.

The reported base of more than 13,000 registered professionals, including public health authorities and IRCCS research hospitals, represents a meaningful footprint in the Italian market for a company founded in 2024. The planned expansion into documentation and coding automation would extend the platform from reference and decision support into administrative workflows, a segment with distinct purchasing dynamics.

For acquirers in clinical software, medical publishing, health data or regulated AI, DatAIMed offers a source-grounded retrieval platform, an EU-compliant infrastructure posture and an established user base among Italian institutional healthcare organisations.

No revenue figures or customer contract values were disclosed with the funding.
