WEFLY (齐飞航空) Raises CNY 100M Series A Led by Suzhou Innovation Investment Group

WEFLY Closes CNY 100 Million Series A

Chinese urban air mobility company WEFLY (Qifei Aviation) has raised CNY 100 million in a Series A round led by Suzhou Innovation Investment Group. The round included participation from Linear Capital, INCE Capital (渶策资本), Jiangsu Strategic Emerging Industries Future Angel Fund (江苏省战新未来天使基金) and Xiangcheng Investment Holding Group (相城投控集团).

Company Background

WEFLY was founded in 2022 in Suzhou and develops and operates electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The company's flagship W280 crewed eVTOL first flew in July 2025 and entered China's type-certification process in September 2026.

Commercial Traction

In late 2025, WEFLY signed purchase-intent agreements for 105 W280-series aircraft with three Greater Bay Area operators for urban logistics use. The company also works with AVIC subsidiaries on flight-control and avionics systems.

Investor Read-Through

The Series A brings together a mix of local government-backed capital and venture investors. Suzhou Innovation Investment Group leads, with Xiangcheng Investment Holding Group adding further regional backing, while Linear Capital and INCE Capital represent the venture side of the syndicate. Jiangsu Strategic Emerging Industries Future Angel Fund rounds out the investor list.

Why It Matters

WEFLY sits at the intersection of two capital-intensive challenges: developing certified eVTOL aircraft and building out operational use cases. The W280's entry into China's type-certification process in September 2026 marks a regulatory milestone, while the 105-aircraft purchase-intent agreements with Greater Bay Area operators point to early demand in urban logistics.

Collaboration with AVIC subsidiaries on flight-control and avionics systems gives the company access to established aerospace supply-chain expertise as it moves through certification.

Acquisition Angle

For strategic acquirers in aerospace, advanced air mobility and logistics, WEFLY offers a Suzhou-based platform with a flying crewed eVTOL, an active certification programme and early operator commitments. The Series A capital — led by a regional state-linked investor — supports the company through the certification and early commercialisation phase, making its progress on type certification and conversion of purchase intents into firm orders the metrics to track.
