Pikralida is a Poznan-based, clinical-stage biotechnology company founded by scientists Anna Krause, Joanna Lipner and Stanislaw Pikul. It develops therapies for acute, time-critical conditions such as ischemic stroke, traumatic brain injury and venomous snakebite, using a drug-rediscovery approach that redeploys well-characterised molecules - its lead candidate PKL-021 repurposes the MMP inhibitor marimastat for neuroprotection. Alongside its R&D pipeline the company runs Contract Research Organization (CRO) services, and its programmes have drawn public co-financing including NCBR support and over PLN 20M in public funds for the stroke therapy.
