Alteon is a Bengaluru-based deep-tech aerospace startup building small autonomous fixed-wing aircraft that aim to stay airborne for months to over a year by harvesting energy from ocean winds through dynamic soaring — the wind-gradient technique albatrosses use to extract flight energy. Founded by Samay Sanghvi, who began the project in 2023 and formally incorporated the company in 2025, Alteon targets maritime surveillance for governments as its first commercial application. The team of about 20 operates from a 10,000 sq ft facility in Bengaluru and flies regular tests over the Bay of Bengal.
