Overview
This skill assists authors in writing a serialized column called “AI Productivity System.” It triggers when the user says phrases like “start column,” “AI productivity system,” “write column,” or “continue column.” The assistant guides chapter-by-chapter creation, uses reference materials and case-driven, practical writing style, and saves progress to the user's local planning and content files.
How this skill works
On activation the skill reads the column directory and planning file to determine current progress and the next chapter to write. It confirms which chapter to work on, runs a short discussion to lock objectives and supporting cases, then produces a chapter draft following a fixed structure. After writing, it instructs where to save the file and how to mark the chapter complete in the planning document.
When to use it
- You want to create or continue a chapter in the AI Productivity System column.
- You need a structured, chapter-sized draft with cases and actionable steps.
- You want writing that follows a consistent style and chapter template.
- You need to integrate book references or workflow examples into a chapter.
- You prefer incremental writing—one chapter per session.
Best practices
- Confirm chapter scope before drafting: core problem, intended reader outcome, required cases, and internet research need.
- Keep each session focused on one chapter to maintain momentum and consistency.
- Provide real workflow examples from your practice for case-driven chapters.
- Use the provided chapter template (intro, concept, importance, steps, pitfalls, summary, action list).
- Mark each chapter done in the planning file after saving to keep progress accurate.
Example use cases
- Start a new column chapter on building an AI-assisted task workflow with a 800–1,200 word draft.
- Continue a partially written chapter: discuss missing examples, then produce the remaining sections.
- Transform notes and book citations into a structured chapter using referenced books and writing-style guidance.
- Produce a short actionable checklist and ‘golden quote’ to close each chapter.
- Iteratively refine a chapter based on reader goals and practical cases provided by the author.
FAQ
Say a trigger phrase such as “start column,” “write column,” or “continue column.” The skill will read progress and ask which chapter to work on.
Will the assistant save files automatically?
The assistant drafts and gives the save path and filename to use; you should save the file into your content folder and then mark the chapter complete in the planning file.
Can it pull internet sources for examples?
Yes—during the pre-writing discussion you can request internet research; the assistant will indicate what extra material it needs or recommend local references to cite.
