Overview

This skill creates or upgrades premium, conversion‑focused personal brand videos (founder intros, portfolio reels, LinkedIn/website hero) using a Remotion-based workflow. It delivers a concise story structure, a consistent visual and motion system, and a full Remotion implementation or upgrade pass. Always pair this skill with the remotion-best-practices skill for Remotion rules and rendering constraints.

How this skill works

I collect audience, platform, length, CTA, visual style, and available assets, then draft a 6-scene story spine (Hook → What → Proof → How → Impact → CTA). Next I define design tokens (typography, colors, icon style), a small set of motion primitives, and a frame-based timing map. Finally I implement scenes in Remotion using useCurrentFrame/useVideoConfig, interpolate/spring, staticFile, and shared components, or perform an upgrade pass on an existing project.

When to use it

  • You need a short, premium personal branding video for LinkedIn, website hero, email, or keynote.
  • You want a Remotion-native implementation that follows Remotion animation rules and rendering constraints.
  • You have an existing Remotion project that needs visual, motion, or quality upgrades.
  • You only need a script/storyboard and scene templates for production.
  • You want a cohesive visual system and reusable components for future videos.

Best practices

  • Always load remotion-best-practices first and drive animation with useCurrentFrame/useVideoConfig.
  • Keep scenes focused: one message per scene and strong visual hierarchy.
  • Prefer minimal, premium layouts over busy compositions; limit elements and rely on precise motion.
  • Tokenize typography, colors, and icon styles; reuse tokens across all scenes.
  • Document motion in frames (e.g., hero reveal 0–18f, stagger 4f) and use interpolate/spring, not CSS animations.
  • When upgrading, replace emojis with SVGs, flatten motion to eased animations, and add depth with shadows/gradients.

Example use cases

  • 30-second founder intro for LinkedIn: vertical 1080×1920, dark premium theme, CTA to book a call.
  • Portfolio reel hero for personal website: 45s horizontal hero with sample work and impact metrics.
  • Upgrade pass on an existing Remotion project to standardize tokens, replace CSS animations, and improve timing.
  • Script + storyboard only: provide scene descriptions, dialogue, and a storyboard template for production.
  • Full Remotion implementation: shared components (Typography, Metric, Badge), frame-timed motion, and export-ready composition.

FAQ

Yes — add the remotion-best-practices skill first and provide assets like headshot, logo, brand colors, and any product screenshots.

What if I don’t have a brand system?

I’ll create a concise token set (typography scale, color tokens, icon rules) and apply it consistently across all scenes.
