Overview
This skill creates compelling, conversion-focused product descriptions for e-commerce listings. It turns raw features into benefit-led copy, optimized for platform limits and buyer psychology. Use it to produce titles, short and long descriptions, Amazon-style bullets, specs, and SEO keyword suggestions.
How this skill works
I gather product name, category, key features, target audience, price positioning, platform, and unique selling point. I convert each feature using a 'So what?' test into clear benefits and emotional payoffs, then craft a headline, short hook, bullet points, and full description tailored to the chosen marketplace. Outputs respect platform character limits and include SEO placement, sensory language, social proof, and a call to action.
When to use it
- Writing a new product page for Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, eBay, or WooCommerce
- Improving existing listings to increase conversions or search visibility
- Converting technical features into customer-focused benefits
- Creating marketplace-compliant titles and bullets with platform limits
- Preparing copy for advertising, product catalogs, or email launch
Best practices
- Provide product name, key features, target audience, price tier, platform, and USP up front
- Always apply the feature → so what? → benefit → emotional payoff formula
- Put the primary keyword in the title and opening sentence naturally
- Use sensory and emotional language to connect with buyer motivations
- Include measurable details, specs, and social proof when available
Example use cases
- Create an Amazon listing: optimized 200-char title, five bullets, 2,000-char description
- Draft a Shopify product page with brand story, hero headline, and long-form benefits
- Convert engineering specs into customer-facing benefits for a tech accessory
- Rewrite Etsy copy to emphasize handmade qualities and storytelling
- Generate Amazon-style bullets emphasizing safety, comfort, and durability
FAQ
Default to Shopify-style unlimited format and note that platform-specific limits may need adjustment.
I only have features, not benefits—can you help?
Yes. I apply the 'so what?' test to turn each feature into a clear benefit and emotional payoff.
