Overview

This skill creates, schedules, and publishes social media content across platforms using Typefully. It handles drafts, cross-platform posts, media uploads, scheduling, and account (social set) selection so you can manage Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, and Mastodon from a single interface. Use this skill whenever you ask to draft, schedule, post, or check social content.

How this skill works

The skill uses Typefully's CLI-style commands to list and create drafts, upload media, schedule or publish posts, and manage connected social sets. It first ensures a configured API key and a resolved social set (default or chosen) before performing any actions, and it warns if the skill may be out of date. Media uploads include polling until ready (or can return immediately with a status you can poll).

When to use it

• Draft a tweet, thread, or post for X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, or Mastodon
• Schedule a post for a specific time or the next available slot
• Upload images or video and attach them to a draft
• List, view, update, or delete drafts and scheduled posts
• Publish a draft immediately across one or multiple platforms

Best practices

• Ensure your TYPEFULLY_API_KEY is configured before requesting actions; setup is required to proceed
• Resolve which social set to use up front—set a default to avoid repeated prompts
• Upload media first and confirm media_id is ready before creating the final draft
• When multiple social sets exist, explicitly confirm the target account and offer to save it as default
• Use scratchpad notes for internal context instead of local files when adding ideas or instructions

• Draft a LinkedIn post and schedule it for next business morning
• Create a cross-platform announcement for X, Threads, and LinkedIn with the same text
• Upload product photos, wait for processing, then attach them to a scheduled post
• List all scheduled posts and export their IDs or share URLs for team review
