Overview
This skill changes DeepChat application settings during a conversation when you explicitly ask to modify DeepChat preferences. It only activates for DeepChat settings (theme, language, font size, sound, copy-with-COT) and will not touch OS, editor, or other app settings. The skill uses dedicated settings tools and closes itself after the change to keep context small.
How this skill works
When you request a DeepChat setting change, the skill confirms the target setting and intended value, then calls the appropriate settings tool (toggle, language, theme, or font size). If the requested change is unsupported or high-risk (providers, API keys, MCP, prompts, paths), the skill opens the relevant Settings section and explains where to make the change instead of applying it. The skill asks clarifying questions for ambiguous requests and deactivates itself when finished.
When to use it
- Change DeepChat theme (dark / light / system).
- Switch DeepChat language or locale (e.g., en-US, zh-CN).
- Adjust DeepChat font size level.
- Enable or disable sound effects or copy-with-COT toggle.
- Open a specific DeepChat Settings page when a change cannot be applied automatically.
Best practices
- Only request changes that apply to DeepChat itself; do not ask this skill to modify OS or other apps.
- Be explicit about the target setting and desired value to avoid clarification loops.
- For sensitive or unsupported settings (API keys, providers, prompts, MCP, paths), ask to open Settings rather than requesting the skill to change them.
- If you are unsure of the available values (e.g., font size range), ask the skill to list valid options first.
- After a change, confirm the final value so the skill can deactivate and keep context minimal.
Example use cases
- Set the app theme to dark.
- Change language to en-US.
- Turn off sound effects.
- Decrease DeepChat font size by one level.
- Open the MCP settings page in Settings for me.
FAQ
No. This skill only changes DeepChat application settings and will not modify OS, editor, or other app settings.
What if I ask to change an API key or provider?
Those are considered high-risk and unsupported. The skill will open the corresponding Settings section and point you to where to make the change manually.
