Overview

This skill is a mega-reference of 100+ product-led growth (PLG) tactics and playbook ideas organized by lever and difficulty. It helps teams brainstorm, prioritize, and turn PLG inspiration into actionable next steps. Use it when you need growth ideas, a PLG playbook, or rapid brainstorming for acquisition, activation, retention, monetization, or expansion.

How this skill works

I start by asking diagnostic questions about your weakest PLG lever, team capacity, current bottlenecks, and timeline. I then filter the 100+ tactics to match your lever and engineering constraints, shortlist the most relevant 5–10 ideas, and score them using ICE (Impact, Confidence, Ease). Finally I recommend the top 3–5 ideas with rationale and a concrete next-steps plan you can execute.

When to use it

  • You need a rapid list of tailored PLG experiments or features to try next.
  • You’re running a growth brainstorm and want vetted, categorized ideas.
  • You want to prioritize ideas by effort and expected impact using ICE scoring.
  • You’re building onboarding, trial, or monetization changes and need patterns.
  • You need inspiration for viral, in-product, or expansion levers.

Best practices

  • Answer the diagnostic questions up front to focus recommendations on your bottleneck.
  • Limit shortlist to 5–10 ideas that match team capacity (days/weeks/months).
  • Score shortlisted ideas with ICE and surface the top 3–5 for execution.
  • Prefer quick wins (low difficulty, high impact) when timeline is short.
  • Pair any recommended idea with concrete next steps, metrics, and an owner.

Example use cases

  • A solo founder wants 3 low-effort activation experiments to implement this week.
  • A growth team needs a prioritized playbook for improving trial-to-paid conversion.
  • A product leader asks for expansion tactics to drive seat-based revenue growth.
  • A startup building PLG wants onboarding patterns to reduce time-to-value.
  • A marketing lead needs viral and referral ideas to double organic signups.

FAQ

Yes—each idea is classified by difficulty (Low/Med/High) and impact (Low/Med/High) and mapped to a PLG lever.

Can you tailor ideas to my engineering capacity?

Yes—tell me your team size and capacity and I’ll filter ideas to match days/weeks/months horizons.

How do you prioritize the shortlist?

I use ICE scoring (Impact x Confidence x Ease) to rank ideas and recommend the top ones with rationale.
