Overview

This skill provides end-to-end SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) for websites, optimizing content and technical signals for both traditional search engines and AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude). It combines audits, keyword research, schema generation, and platform-specific recommendations to increase citations and visibility across AI and web search. Use it to improve indexing, AI citations, metadata, and structured data.

How this skill works

The skill performs a website audit to surface technical SEO issues (meta tags, robots, sitemap, load speed) and then runs keyword research to identify volume, difficulty, and long-tail opportunities. It applies GEO methods—citation signals, statistics, FAQ schema, answer-first structure—and generates JSON-LD and meta templates tailored for platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google SGE, Bing/Copilot, and Claude. Finally, it validates schema, checks bot access, and produces a prioritized optimization report for implementation and monitoring.

When to use it

  • Launching or relaunching a site and needing immediate SEO/GEO baseline.
  • Improving AI visibility so content is more frequently cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Claude.
  • Preparing pages for Google AI Overview (SGE) or Bing/Copilot inclusion.
  • Adding or validating JSON-LD, FAQ schema, and meta tags across many pages.
  • Diagnosing indexing or crawl issues caused by robots.txt or sitemap errors.

Best practices

  • Follow an answer-first writing style: lead with the direct answer then expand with details.
  • Add authoritative citations, precise statistics, and short expert quotes to increase citation likelihood.
  • Use FAQPage JSON-LD for common queries and ensure questions map to clear, concise answers.
  • Keep content structure clean: H1 > H2 > H3, short paragraphs, lists, and tables for data.
  • Allow relevant AI bots in robots.txt and confirm sitemap inclusion for discovery.

Example use cases

  • Run a quick technical audit to find missing meta tags, broken schema, or blocked bots before a launch.
  • Generate FAQPage schema and JSON-LD for a product or knowledge page to boost AI citation rates.
  • Optimize an article cluster for topical authority and internal linking to improve Google SGE and ChatGPT citations.
  • Perform international keyword checks and resolve conflicts where terms have different meanings across markets.
  • Produce a prioritized report with fixable items: meta updates, structured data, page speed actions, and monitoring steps.

FAQ

GEO is Generative Engine Optimization—optimizing content to be cited by AI search engines. Being cited by AI is increasingly equivalent to top ranking exposure in AI-driven results.

Which schema types matter most for AI search?

FAQPage, Article/WebPage, Product, Organization, and Author schema are high-impact. FAQPage and explicit author or citation fields often boost AI citation rates the most.
