Overview
This skill creates original knowledge comics and educational graphic narratives in multiple visual styles, from Logicomix/Ligne Claire to Ohmsha manga. It produces full projects including deep content analysis, three storyboard variants, character references, sequential image prompts, and a merged PDF. The workflow is optimized for consistency across pages and supports iterative edits, additions, and deletions.
How this skill works
I read or save the provided source material, run a deep analysis to identify audience, themes, and recommended page count, then generate three distinct storyboard variants with matching character sheets. After you confirm a variant, style, language, and aspect ratio, I generate page prompts, produce images with a chosen image skill (keeping a session ID for visual consistency), and save all assets in a structured comic directory. Finally, I can merge pages into a single PDF and support targeted page edits or inserts with automatic renumbering.
When to use it
- You need an educational comic: tutorials, how-tos, or explanatory content.
- You want a biography comic or a Logicomix-style narrative about a historical figure.
- You require multiple layout and style options before committing to image generation.
- You need consistent character appearance across many sequential pages.
- You plan to iterate on individual pages or add/delete pages later.
Best practices
- Provide clear source text or files; include images if you want visual references.
- Choose recommended storyboard variant first, then tweak style or aspect ratio if needed.
- Use the session ID option of the image skill for consistent character rendering.
- Keep aspect ratio consistent across the project to avoid reflow issues.
- Provide explicit custom character descriptions for Ohmsha-style comics if you do not want default iconic mentors.
Example use cases
- Convert a technical tutorial into an Ohmsha-style webtoon with step-by-step panels.
- Create a balanced biography in classic style with a mixed layout and cinematic cover.
- Produce a dense, diagram-rich comic for computing or AI topics using the ohmsha+dense pairing.
- Generate a dramatic splash-layout short story highlighting a scientific breakthrough.
- Iteratively refine a single page (redraw or relabel) and rebuild the PDF without regenerating all pages.
FAQ
Yes. After you confirm options, changing style will trigger character image regeneration and updated prompts; the workflow supports this but may require re-rendering affected images.
How are files organized and named?
Each session creates a comic/{topic-slug}/ directory with source files, analysis.md, storyboards, characters, prompts/, numbered page images (NN-page-[slug].png), and a final {topic-slug}.pdf.
