Overview
This skill generates hand-drawn style cover images for articles by analyzing the content and producing a matched visual layout and title. It supports 19 preset styles and multiple aspect ratios, and saves prompts and outputs in a structured folder per topic. The tool automates style selection but also accepts explicit style, aspect, language, and title controls.
How this skill works
The skill reads the provided article text (or pasted content), extracts the topic, tone, and keywords, then selects a matching style automatically or uses the user-specified style. It creates a short, punchy title (unless --no-title is set), builds a prompt saved to prompts/cover.md, and calls a configured image generation service to produce the final cover image. Outputs are organized under cover-image/{topic-slug}/ with source files, prompts, and cover.png.
When to use it
- When you want a ready-to-use hand-drawn cover for a blog, newsletter, or public post
- When you provide article content and need an automated visual selection and title
- When you need consistent covers across a series (use --style for uniformity)
- When preparing images for multiple platforms (generate different aspects)
- When you want prompt files saved for review or re-generation
Best practices
- Provide a full article (200–500+ words) and a clear opening paragraph to improve topic extraction
- Let the system auto-select style for most cases; override with --style for brand consistency
- Choose aspect ratio by platform: 2.35:1 for blog headers, 16:9 for video, 1:1 for social
- Use --no-title when you plan to add or localize text later in a separate editor
- Preview at target size to confirm title readability and visual clarity
Example use cases
- Generate a blog header in 'blueprint' style for a systems architecture post
- Create a 1:1 social thumbnail with 'playful' or 'watercolor' for a personal story
- Produce a 16:9 video cover in 'bold-editorial' for marketing or product release
- Batch-generate covers for a series using the same --style to maintain brand identity
- Export prompts for designers to refine assets or reuse prompts in other tools
FAQ
Specify --style to force a preferred preset, or generate several versions to compare styles.
Can I get a cover without title text?
Yes — use --no-title to produce a pure visual background suitable for later editing.
How do I handle existing output folder name conflicts?
The tool appends a timestamp to the topic-slug (topic-slug-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS) to avoid overwriting.
