Overview

This skill generates complete, print-ready travel itineraries that combine weather, points of interest, dining, transport logistics, and budget estimates into a multi-day plan. It produces dark-themed HTML, Markdown, or JSON output and can optionally parse booking emails to auto-import flights, hotels, and car rentals. The tool supports multi-language place names and includes packing lists and expense breakdowns.

How this skill works

The generator ingests user inputs (destinations, dates, preferences) plus optional data sources: Gmail booking extracts, weather forecasts, and places data. It maps bookings into the daily schedule, automatically allocates activities by time, estimates travel times and costs, and annotates each day with weather and packing suggestions. Final outputs are rendered as styled HTML (print-ready), editable Markdown, or structured JSON for further processing.

When to use it

  • Planning a new trip and need a complete day-by-day itinerary
  • You want to import existing bookings from Gmail to avoid manual entry
  • Preparing printable travel documents with dark-theme styling
  • Estimating total trip costs and per-category budgets
  • Creating multilingual itineraries with local and user-language place names

Best practices

  • Provide clear destinations and exact travel dates for accurate scheduling and weather forecasts
  • Grant Gmail access only if you want automatic booking imports; otherwise supply bookings manually
  • Supply interests/tags (food, history, nature) to tailor POI and dining suggestions
  • Use the built-in currency and budget flags to get realistic cost estimates
  • Verify API keys (Google Places) or rely on the fallback database if you prefer no external calls

Example use cases

  • Generate a 10-day Japan itinerary with hotel and flight confirmations pulled from Gmail
  • Create a weekend city break plan with timed visits, transit times, and restaurant bookings
  • Produce a printable PDF for group travel with shared budgets and packing lists
  • Estimate budget for a self-driving trip including fuel, tolls, and rental costs
  • Translate place names into English plus local language for multilingual travelers

FAQ

Yes. Gmail parsing is optional. You can input bookings manually or skip bookings and still get full itineraries using weather and POI data.

How accurate are travel time and budget estimates?

Estimates use distances, typical transit speeds, and average local prices. They are practical planning figures but not guaranteed; validate against live booking costs and local transit services.

What output formats are available?

HTML (dark-themed, print-ready), Markdown, and JSON. PDF export is supported via HTML-to-PDF conversion as an optional step.
