Overview
This skill helps users pick auspicious dates for important events like weddings, openings, moving, groundbreakings, and rituals. It evaluates traditional Chinese almanac factors to recommend the nearest suitable days. Recommendations aim to match the user's requested activity and optionally avoid clashes with the user's zodiac sign. Results are concise, prioritized, and include brief rationale and cautions.
How this skill works
You provide the event type (wedding, opening, moving, groundbreak, etc.) and optionally your Chinese zodiac. The skill inspects daily almanac properties — suitable activities (Yi), prohibitions (Ji), clashes (Chong/Sha), and presence of auspicious stars (Jishen) — to score days. It returns a ranked list of nearby auspicious dates with key details: heavenly stem/earthly branch, Yi/Ji items, any zodiac clashes, and prominent auspicious deities. A short recommendation explains the primary choice and alternatives.
When to use it
- Planning a wedding or engagement and you want nearby auspicious dates
- Scheduling a business opening, signing, or plaque ceremony
- Choosing a moving-in or housewarming date
- Selecting a date for ground-breaking, foundation work, or renovations
- Picking dates for weddings, alliances, or formal agreements
- Quick reference when you want avoidance of conflicts with your zodiac
Best practices
- Specify the exact activity (e.g., wedding, opening, moving, groundbreak) for precise filters
- Provide your zodiac sign to avoid clashes and improve relevance
- Prefer the top-ranked date but review secondary options if constraints exist
- Check prohibitions (Ji) in the recommendation to avoid conflicting tasks on the same day
- Use the recommendations as cultural guidance; combine with local logistics and availability
Example use cases
- User planning a wedding asks for the nearest auspicious weekend that does not clash with their zodiac
- Small business owner seeks the best date to open a shop within the next two weeks
- Homeowner wants to pick a moving-in date while avoiding days with heavy prohibitions
- Contractor preparing to start foundation work needs a nearby date that permits groundbreaking
- Couple scheduling an engagement ceremony wants alternatives if the primary date is unavailable
FAQ
Yes. The skill will still recommend auspicious dates but cannot filter out days that clash specifically with your zodiac.
How far ahead does it search for suitable dates?
By default it finds the nearest suitable days; you can request a broader range if you need options further out.
