Overview
This skill runs an end-of-day review to capture what you accomplished, surface insights, and set clear priorities for tomorrow. It assembles a daily note that summarizes completed work, progress by project, blockers, new questions, and top next actions. Use it to turn scattered end-of-day thoughts into an actionable plan and a searchable record.
How this skill works
The skill scans notes modified or created today and extracts items relevant to projects and tasks. It prompts a short reflection about accomplishments, blocks, and discoveries, then formats those into a standardized daily review note. It can also move completed tasks to an archive, update project status notes, and link related discoveries to reduce future friction.
When to use it
- At the end of every workday to close out the day
- After finishing a focused work session
- When wrapping up a multi-task day with many small wins
- Before leaving for vacation or a longer break
- When you need to prepare a clear handoff for tomorrow
Best practices
- Run the review within 30 minutes of finishing work to capture fresh memories
- Limit Accomplished and Insights entries to the most meaningful items for clarity
- Keep Tomorrow's Focus to three priorities to avoid decision fatigue
- Flag open loops clearly with owners and dates to prevent follow-up drift
- Archive completed project tasks immediately to keep project views current
Example use cases
- Daily stand-alone summary created at close of day for personal records
- Weekly roll-up by running daily reviews and consolidating insights
- Moving completed tasks from a project board into an archive at day end
- Preparing a brief handoff note for teammates before leaving
- Surfacing recurring blockers by tracking daily blocked items and their causes
FAQ
It can do both: create a new daily review note for the date and optionally update or link existing project notes with status changes.
How many priorities should I set for tomorrow?
Keep it to three primary priorities to maintain focus; add open loops or lower-priority tasks as checkboxes.
