Overview
This skill researches any topic across Reddit, X, and the web using a 30-day freshness window to surface current trends, community sentiment, and actionable insights. It compresses what would be hours of manual searching into minutes, delivering pattern detection, sentiment assessment, and copy-paste-ready prompts. Outputs are formatted for immediate use in strategy, product, or content work.
How this skill works
The skill runs date-filtered web searches, targeted Reddit queries (or a web fallback), and X/Twitter scans to collect recent discussions and articles. It detects themes mentioned three or more times across sources, scores sentiment (hype, skepticism, frustration), extracts key quotes, and synthesizes actionable prompts and next-step ideas. Results include source links, engagement signals, and ready-to-run prompts or tactics.
When to use it
- Discover emerging trends you must act on within the last 30 days
- Validate strategy or messaging with current practitioner conversations
- Perform competitive intel based on real user reactions
- Generate prompt templates and copy-paste tactics from live community signals
- Quickly assess sentiment and pain points before product or marketing decisions
- Produce rapid briefs for team syncs or executive summaries
Best practices
- Use specific queries (eg. “AI writing tools for B2B SaaS”) to narrow results
- Add audience context (developers, marketers, teams) to focus findings
- Run monthly to track shifts and catch trend inflection points
- Use --deep when you need detailed quotes and full-article extraction
- Combine with Reddit-only mode when community sentiment is the priority
- Export findings to a shared doc or Notion for team reference
Example use cases
- Content strategy: find what format and topics are currently getting traction on LinkedIn and X
- Product research: surface top pain points and feature ideas discussed by users in the last month
- Competitive analysis: compare recent sentiment and threads about competing tools
- Prompt engineering: collect trending prompt patterns and copy-paste-ready templates
- Campaign validation: test whether a proposed message aligns with current community sentiment
FAQ
All results are filtered to the last 30 days so insights reflect recent signals, not older articles.
What if Reddit or X credentials aren’t configured?
The skill falls back to web search for Reddit content and will still scan public X content where available; some depth or metadata may be reduced.
How long does a typical run take?
Standard mode completes in about 7 minutes; Deep Dive mode takes roughly 12–15 minutes for full-article extraction.
