Overview

This skill turns messy meeting notes, transcripts, or pasted text into clear summaries and actionable to-dos instantly. It extracts action items with owners and deadlines, records key decisions, and auto-saves a full markdown file for search and reference. No setup, no subscription — paste your notes and get structured outputs and optional to-do tracking.

How this skill works

Paste any meeting notes, transcript, or unstructured text and the skill identifies the meeting title, date, attendees, summary, action items, decisions, open questions, and next steps. It formats a concise chat highlight (2–3 sentence summary plus numbered action items) and saves a complete markdown file named with the YYYY-MM-DD_topic.md convention. If action items are present, it prompts whether to add them to an integrated todo.md tracker and supports later management commands (show, done, remove, reschedule).

When to use it

  • After client calls or internal meetings to capture owners and deadlines quickly
  • When you have transcript exports (Otter, Fireflies, Zoom) and need a digest
  • For messy or fragmented notes that need formal follow-up items
  • Before sharing meeting outcomes with stakeholders or updating project trackers
  • When you want an auditable, searchable record of meeting decisions

Best practices

  • Paste the full raw notes or transcript to preserve context for the saved file
  • If date or topic is ambiguous, supply a short title or confirm the suggested filename
  • Use clear owner mentions (e.g., Sarah, @Mike) in notes to improve extraction accuracy
  • Review the top 10 displayed items and add only the ones you want tracked to todo.md
  • Run periodic 'todo check' to surface overdue and due-today tasks

Example use cases

  • Turn a 45-minute client call transcript into a 2-3 sentence summary plus 6 action items with owners and deadlines
  • Paste a messy Slack thread and extract follow-ups and decisions for a project file
  • Convert a voice memo transcription into assigned tasks and save the full meeting markdown for compliance
  • Quickly generate a meeting file (YYYY-MM-DD_topic.md) to attach to a ticket or share with an email recap
  • Add extracted tasks to a centralized todo.md and later mark completed items with simple commands

FAQ

No setup or subscription is required. Paste notes and the skill does the rest.

How are filenames generated and why does that matter?

Files use the YYYY-MM-DD_topic.md format so they sort chronologically and are easy to find; you can confirm or edit the extracted topic when needed.

Can I add only some action items to the to-do list?

Yes. After extraction you can reply with 'all', 'none', or a list like '1,3,5' to add specific items to todo.md.
