Overview

This skill helps product and growth teams define launch success criteria and set up tracking during the PRD v0.9 Go-to-Market. It produces ready-to-use KPI- entries specialized for launch measurement, including targets, event mappings, dashboards, and action thresholds. Use it to convert launch goals into measurable, actionable metrics that guide day-by-day decision making.

How this skill works

On request, the skill inspects existing v0.3 outcome KPIs and the product type calibration to recommend launch-focused KPIs across the funnel: Reach, Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Revenue, and Referral. It outputs KPI- formatted entries with definitions, unit, source, timeframe targets (Day 1/7/30/90), tracking events, dashboard location, and red/yellow/green action thresholds. It also returns a checklist for tracking infrastructure and dashboard panels to make metrics visible and actionable.

When to use it

  • When asking “How do we measure launch success?” or “launch KPIs”
  • When preparing v0.9 GTM and needing concrete targets and tracking setup
  • When configuring analytics, event schema, or launch dashboards
  • When converting v0.3 outcome KPIs into launch-specific KPI- entries
  • When you need automated alert thresholds and owner assignments

Best practices

  • Focus on decision-driving metrics — each metric must imply an action
  • Calibrate targets by product type (Fast Follow, Slice, Innovation)
  • Track a small set of 10–15 core events rather than over-instrumenting
  • Set explicit Day 1/7/30/90 targets and owners for each KPI
  • Create a daily launch dashboard and automated alerts for red thresholds

Example use cases

  • Generate KPI- entries for Website Visitors, Trial Signups, Activation Rate, Day-7 Retention, and Revenue Conversion
  • Map event schema to analytics platform (e.g., signup_completed → Mixpanel; page_view → GA4)
  • Produce dashboard layout and panel list for daily launch standups
  • Create action thresholds tied to GTM channels so teams know when to pivot
  • Validate v0.3 KPI links and produce evidence/baseline references for each launch target

FAQ

I produce KPI- entries that include Definition, Unit, Source, Targets (Day1/7/30/90), Tracking events, Dashboard location, Alerts, and Action Thresholds.

How many events should we track for launch?

Aim for 10–15 key events covering acquisition, activation, engagement, and conversion to avoid noise and focus on signals that drive decisions.
