Overview

This skill extracts and consolidates key learnings, insights, and actionable takeaways from the current conversation session. It turns chat discussions into structured, reusable notes, study materials, or decision records you can save and revisit.

How this skill works

The skill reviews the conversation to identify core concepts, decisions, action items, resources, and solved problems. It categorizes learnings (technical, conceptual, decision documentation, research, or troubleshooting), extracts the core insight, supporting context, and an actionable takeaway for each item, then formats the result into the requested output type (markdown, checklist, inline summary, or docx).

When to use it

  • After a meeting or long chat to preserve what was learned
  • When you want a study guide or flashcards from a discussion
  • To document decisions, rationale, and next steps
  • When you need a concise summary of technical solutions or debugging sessions
  • To convert research or discoveries from a chat into organized notes

Best practices

  • Confirm desired output format (markdown, checklist, inline text, or docx) before generating
  • Ask for the scope: whole conversation, last N messages, or specific topics
  • Request follow-up context for ambiguous or incomplete items
  • Prioritize 3–5 top learnings for clarity and retrievability
  • Include links or code snippets exactly as shared to preserve accuracy

Example use cases

  • Capture learnings from a coding pair session into a markdown study guide
  • Summarize decisions and action items from a product planning chat
  • Create a troubleshooting log after resolving an API issue
  • Convert a conceptual discussion into a short reference with examples and applications
  • Compile research findings and sources into a shareable document

FAQ

Default is a markdown document. I can also output inline structured text, a task checklist, or prepare a docx for formal sharing—confirm which you want.

How many learnings will you capture?

By default I extract the 3–5 most significant learnings from the current conversation, but you can request more or fewer and specify focus areas.
