Overview
This skill is a local SEO analysis and optimization expert for brick-and-mortar and service-area businesses. It automatically detects whether a site needs local SEO, audits NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency, evaluates Google Business Profile completeness, and generates LocalBusiness structured data. The skill delivers prioritized, actionable recommendations to improve local search visibility and conversions.
How this skill works
I scan site pages (footer, contact, about, services, and homepage) to detect addresses, phone numbers, service areas, and geo keywords. I compare all NAP instances to find inconsistencies, extract core services and locations, and generate city+service keyword suggestions and LocalBusiness schema. I assess Google Business Profile elements—categories, photos, posts, services, hours, and review replies—and produce a prioritized action plan with HTML/schema and map-embed snippets.
When to use it
- Launching or migrating a local business website
- You see inconsistent contact info across pages or platforms
- GBP is incomplete, has few photos, or low reply rate
- You want targeted local keyword strategy (city + service)
- Preparing for a local visibility audit before paid campaigns
Best practices
- Standardize NAP across site and GBP using one registered business name and international phone format (+1-XXX-XXX-XXXX).
- Add LocalBusiness Schema on contact/home pages and include geo coordinates and openingHoursSpecification.
- Create 10+ high-quality GBP photos and publish posts weekly (1–2x) to boost engagement.
- Reply to all reviews within 24–48 hours using templated but personalized responses.
- Use location modifiers in titles and meta descriptions (e.g., ‘Best [service] in [city] | [Company]’).
Example use cases
- Full local SEO audit with 100-point scoring and a 4-week action roadmap for a single-location business.
- NAP consistency check across site pages and automated standardization suggestions with HTML examples.
- GBP optimization checklist: add description, expand services list, upload photos, and increase review reply rate.
- Generate LocalBusiness JSON-LD schema and Google Maps embed snippet ready for insertion into Next.js pages.
- Local keyword list creation: city, neighborhood, postal-code and ‘near me’ variations for service pages.
FAQ
I look for address, phone, service-area mentions, geo keywords, and local service content. Presence of these signals means local SEO is required.
Will the schema and map code work with my site framework?
Yes. I provide standard JSON-LD LocalBusiness schema and iframe map snippets that can be pasted into most HTML/Next.js templates; minor path or URL adjustments may be needed.
