Overview
This skill evaluates Figma designs from the viewpoint of a specific operator persona, producing concrete, role-grounded critique and prioritized recommendations. It focuses on cognitive load, communication alignment, pain-point mitigation, and system visibility relevant to the persona’s documented responsibilities. Use it to turn design artefacts into operationally meaningful feedback for interface teams and stakeholders.
How this skill works
Load the single persona profile requested, fetch the Figma design via MCP or accept screenshots when MCP is unavailable, and search Outline for supporting docs when possible. Calibrate the review with evaluation examples, then apply the persona-based framework (cognitive load, communication patterns, pain points, context awareness, system visibility, and notifications) to generate prioritized, actionable recommendations. Always tie observations back to the persona’s profile and surface missing documentation when applicable.
When to use it
- Review UX for a specific operator role (e.g., air-surveillance-tech, weapons-director).
- Conduct design reviews before user testing with domain operators.
- Evaluate operator-facing dashboards, controls, and notification systems.
- Audit designs for operational readiness and workload suitability.
- Validate that an interface surfaces the right systems and comms channels for a role.
Best practices
- Load only the requested persona profile; do not mix personas in one review.
- Use Figma MCP to obtain full context (nodes, component states); fallback to screenshots only when necessary.
- Search Outline for UI standards, training materials, and past reviews to support claims.
- Prioritize recommendations by operational impact, not visual polish.
- Ground every finding directly in persona profile sections (Profile, Sees, Hears, Says & Does, Pain Points).
Example use cases
- Evaluate whether a surveillance console layout highlights the exact telemetry an air-surveillance tech needs during intercepts.
- Assess a weapons-director UI for error-prevention affordances tied to documented pain points.
- Review a communications dashboard to ensure Surveillance Net messages and alerts are relayable per 'Says & Does'.
- Audit a multi-system consolidation screen for missing integrations (e.g., BCS-F, RS-4) and redundant displays.
FAQ
I will list available persona options from the index and ask you to choose the correct one before proceeding.
Can you review a design without Outline access?
Yes. I will proceed using the persona profile and design context but will note missing supporting documents and recommend which organizational standards to consult.
