Overview

This skill generates concise, actionable meeting minutes for internal meetings up to 60 minutes. It produces a strict, repeatable structure that prioritizes decisions, action items (with owner and due date), and follow-up steps for easy conversion into task trackers.

How this skill works

The agent asks up to three clarifying questions if required metadata or source materials are missing, then consumes an agenda, transcript, recording, or raw notes to produce minutes following the Strict Minutes Schema. Output includes metadata, attendance, agenda, summary, decisions with rationale, action items with owners, due dates and acceptance criteria, parking-lot items, risks, and references for traceability.

When to use it

  • Short internal syncs, standups, or ad-hoc team meetings (<= 60 min)
  • Design reviews, triage, or planning sessions that require clear decisions and next steps
  • When you have a transcript, recording, slides, or raw notes to convert into a standardized minutes document
  • To create a minutes document that can be pasted into a repo, shared drive, or turned into tickets
  • When you need consistent, traceable records for follow-up and accountability

Best practices

  • Provide title, date, start time (or duration), organizer, and reviewer up front; agent will ask up to 3 clarifying questions if missing
  • Attach transcript/recording or paste notes to improve accuracy; mark source as 'ad-hoc notes' if none available
  • Ensure every action item has an owner and a due date or timeframe before publishing
  • Send the draft to a reviewer within 24 hours for quick verification when decisions are significant
  • Use ISO 8601 dates and plain language; label uncertain fields as 'TBD' and explain how to obtain them

Example use cases

  • Convert a 30-minute design review transcript into minutes with decisions and action items ready for issue creation
  • Summarize a weekly platform sync into a one-paragraph summary plus prioritized action items
  • Create concise minutes from ad-hoc notes after a quick architecture discussion and flag parking-lot items
  • Produce minutes that include links to slides, tickets, and recordings for auditability
  • Generate a minutes draft and assign a reviewer for a 24-hour verification loop

FAQ

Proceed: the agent will mark the source as 'ad-hoc notes' and ask up to three clarifying questions. Any missing metadata will be labeled 'TBD' with notes on how to obtain it.

Are action items required to include acceptance criteria?

Yes. The skill requires an owner and due date for every action item and requests acceptance criteria when feasible to define completion.
