Overview

This skill generates professional LinkedIn announcement text for intelligent textbooks by analyzing book metrics, chapter content, and learning resources. It produces three copy-ready post variations (full, medium, concise) that include key statistics, suggested hashtags, and a clear call to action linking to the published site.

How this skill works

The skill reads project metadata (site_name, site_url, site_description) and parses docs/learning-graph/book-metrics.md to extract chapter counts, concepts, quizzes, MicroSims, word count, and other core metrics. It assesses completeness using configurable thresholds and then composes LinkedIn-ready copy with an opening hook, content description, metric highlights, AI/technology disclosure, CTA, and optimized hashtags. Missing metrics are handled gracefully and phrasing adapts to status (Complete, Nearly Complete, In Progress, Early Release).

When to use it

  • Publishing a completed intelligent textbook to a live site (GitHub Pages or similar).
  • Announcing major milestones (first 5–10 chapters, milestone word counts).
  • Promoting updated chapters, new interactive simulations, or added assessments.
  • Preparing social posts for course launches, workshops, or conference talks.
  • Sharing the resource with educators, instructional designers, and learning technologists.

Best practices

  • Keep posts professional and concise; use first person and short paragraphs.
  • Front-load the most important info, then list key metrics with emoji bullets (1–3 emojis max).
  • Include the live site URL and 10–15 relevant hashtags for discoverability.
  • Be transparent about AI/technology used and invite collaboration or feedback.
  • Add a screenshot of the learning graph or homepage for higher engagement.

Example use cases

  • Initial launch: full-length announcement with complete metrics and all hashtags.
  • Progress update: medium-length post after reaching a chapters or quizzes milestone.
  • Quick share: concise post for cross-posting or linking from a newsletter.
  • Conference promotion: use medium version with CTA to slides and repo for contributors.

FAQ

It needs mkdocs.yml (site_name, site_url, site_description) and docs/learning-graph/book-metrics.md. Optional inputs: chapter-metrics.md and course-description.md.

How does it handle missing metrics like MicroSims or quizzes?

Missing or zero metrics are handled gracefully: mentions shift to broader strengths (e.g., 'comprehensive content' or 'includes visual elements') and those specific lines are omitted if not applicable.

Can I customize tone and hashtag selection?

Yes. The skill produces three standard variations and supports adjustments for tone (formal, casual) and domain-specific hashtags.
