Overview
This skill creates clear, actionable how-to guides and tutorials tailored to reader skill level and context. It produces structured outputs from short quick tutorials to ultimate deep-dive guides, designed to get readers from zero to a concrete outcome with minimal friction.
How this skill works
The skill inspects the intended outcome, reader prerequisites, desired length, and difficulty to select an appropriate guide type (Quick, Comprehensive, or Ultimate). It then generates a step-by-step structure: title, intro, prerequisites, sequenced steps with examples, troubleshooting, next steps, and resources, following a consistent template and quality checklist.
When to use it
- You need a concise tutorial for a single focused task (500–1,000 words).
- You want a multi-section guide for a moderately complex process (1,500–3,000 words).
- You require a definitive, in-depth resource or training module (3,000+ words).
- You must convert technical processes into teachable steps for learners.
- You want documentation or onboarding materials with troubleshooting and next steps.
Best practices
- Define scope and reader skill level before writing; list explicit prerequisites.
- Keep one action per step and start steps with an action verb.
- Always include the brief 'why' for each step and a concrete example or screenshot note.
- Break large steps into substeps and call out common mistakes and fixes.
- Use headers, numbered steps, and bullets for scanability; provide resources and next steps.
Example use cases
- Create a 700-word quick tutorial: "How to Configure Two-Factor Authentication" for beginners.
- Produce a 2,000-word comprehensive guide: "How to Launch a Small E-commerce Store" with troubleshooting.
- Draft a 4,000-word ultimate guide: "How to Build a Content Strategy and Workflow" including case studies.
- Convert internal SOPs into step-by-step onboarding guides for new hires.
- Turn a complex technical setup into a beginner-friendly, illustrated walkthrough.
FAQ
