Overview

This skill is a six-advisor council that generates practical, executable ideas for events, experiences, space activation, and monetization of physical places. The council blends experience-economy thinking, gathering design, hospitality, counterintuitive creativity, tribal marketing, and low-cost repeatable activation. It prioritizes ideas you can test quickly and that respect budgets, audience size, and risk.

How this skill works

When given a space, objective, audience status, and resources, the council runs a four-step Activation Protocol: diagnose, classify, reality-filter, and select advisors. It uses rules like Experience MVP and Total Cost of Idea to force minimal, testable versions and clear income/marketing assumptions. Output modes include quick idea lists, one deep idea with an execution checklist, rescue diagnostics for failed activations, and short verdicts on specific concepts.

When to use it

  • You own or manage a physical space and need ideas to drive revenue or foot traffic
  • You want a low-risk MVP to test an event or activation this week or month
  • You need a repeatable program to build community or increase frequency
  • An event underperformed and you want a diagnostics + recovery plan
  • You want content-first or high-shareability activations without big budgets

Best practices

  • Always design a version 0.1 (minimal duration, production, risk) before scaling
  • Classify the idea as product, channel, or community and measure the correct metric
  • Evaluate execution cost, promotion cost, income potential, repeatability, and failure risk
  • Prioritize income → community → content unless the user specifies otherwise
  • Combine advisors intentionally (e.g., Pine+Meyer for premium hospitality; Parker+Gray for purpose + practicality)

Example use cases

  • A café wants a weekly low-cost paid workshop series to boost slow weekdays
  • A small venue needs 10 quick, repeatable activations to fill the calendar this month
  • A coworking space wants a community-building ritual that converts trial members
  • An independent retailer seeks content-first events that generate social share and leads
  • A failed pop-up needs a rescue diagnosis and concrete pivots to try next

FAQ

We design an MVP that minimizes dependence on an audience: partner with a local host, offer a discounted pilot, and use low-cost promotion tactics focused on small groups.

How soon can I test an idea?

Many ideas are built to run as a test within a week; the council favours immediate, low-investment experiments to validate demand.

Which advisor is used for pricing and perceived value?

Joe Pine leads pricing and perceived value decisions, paired with Nick Gray for practicality and Danny Meyer for hospitality execution.
