Aristotle Raises $5M Seed Led by True Ventures for Voice-First AI Tutoring
Aristotle Secures $5M Seed Round
Aristotle, a San Francisco-based voice-first AI tutoring platform, has raised $5 million in seed funding. The round was led by True Ventures, with participation from Wicklow Capital and a long list of angel investors. The funding was announced on September 16, 2026.
What Aristotle Does
Aristotle pairs students aged 13 to 18 with an AI tutor that speaks out loud, listens live, and remembers past sessions the way a human tutor would. The product is designed for families across STEM, standardized testing, and language learning.
The company launched nationwide in the US following a closed beta in which more than 1,000 students completed over 1,500 hours of one-on-one tutoring.
Founding Team
Aristotle was founded in 2025 by Stanford alumni Shan Reddy, Jaiden Reddy, and Vivek Vajipey. The founders spent nearly a decade tutoring on marketplaces such as Wyzant and Varsity Tutors before starting the company — experience that shaped the product's emphasis on continuity and spoken interaction.
Why This Round Matters
AI tutoring has become a crowded category, but most products are text-first. Aristotle's bet is that voice — speaking and listening in real time, with memory across sessions — more closely replicates the human tutoring experience that families already pay for. The nationwide launch and beta traction give the company a foundation to scale consumer acquisition.
