AIUC Raises $40M Series A Led by Ribbit Capital to Scale AI Agent Certification and Insurance
AIUC Raises $40M Series A Led by Ribbit Capital
AIUC, the Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company, has raised a $40 million Series A round led by Ribbit Capital, with participation from First Harmonic. The funding was announced on September 15, 2026, and brings the San Francisco-based company's total raised to date to $55 million.
What AIUC Does
AIUC builds confidence infrastructure for enterprise AI adoption. At the center of its offering is the AIUC-1 standard, which independently audits and certifies AI agents against risks including jailbreaks, prompt injection, hallucinations, and data leaks. Certification is not a one-time event: the standard requires quarterly recertification. Audit results are also tied to insurance coverage of up to $50 million per policy, connecting verified agent behavior to financial protection for enterprises deploying AI.
The standard was developed with law firm Orrick and with input from more than 250 Fortune 1000 security and risk leaders, according to the company.
Who Certifies Against AIUC-1
AIUC says builders of widely used agents certify against the standard, including Cursor, ElevenLabs, Harvey, KPMG, Lovable, UiPath, and Fin. That list spans coding assistants, voice AI, legal AI, enterprise automation, and fintech, suggesting demand for independent agent certification cuts across multiple categories of enterprise software.
The Team and Timing
AIUC was founded in 2024 by Rune Kvist, Brandon Wang, and Rajiv Dattani. The company is based in San Francisco. The Series A arrives as enterprises move AI agents from pilots into production, where security, risk, and compliance teams need verifiable evidence that agents behave as intended.
Why This Round Matters
The round is a signal that the market for third-party AI assurance is attracting serious capital. AIUC's model combines two elements that are typically separate: technical auditing of AI systems and underwriting of the resulting risk. By tying insurance coverage to audit outcomes, the company aims to give enterprises a financial backstop alongside a technical standard.
For a sector still defining best practices around agent safety, a certification standard backed by quarterly recertification and input from large-enterprise security leaders offers a structured alternative to one-off evaluations. The involvement of Ribbit Capital as lead investor, alongside First Harmonic, provides the company with additional resources to expand the reach of the AIUC-1 standard.
