Pesia raises €500K seed to build payroll OS for French temp-staffing agencies

Pesia, a Paris-based HR-tech startup, has raised €500,000 in seed funding. The round is a seed-stage raise for a company founded in January 2026, making it one of the earliest funding events in its lifecycle.

What Pesia Does

Pesia builds Pesia OS, a payroll and back-office platform designed specifically for French temporary-staffing agencies. The product is 100% SaaS and is built around the operational realities of temp work rather than adapted from general-purpose payroll software.

Key components of the platform include:

  • A native payroll engine covering temp-work specifics such as IFM and ICCP allowances
  • API-first integrations with agency ATS and CRM tools
  • Three built-in AI agents for compliance monitoring, margin control and payroll verification

The company targets agencies producing between 200 and 10,000 payslips per month. Alongside the software business, Pesia also runs Pesia Conseil, a payroll audit and outsourcing arm.

Founding Team

Pesia was founded by Stanislas Denis (CEO) and Fabien Lefrancois (CTO), both former StaffMe executives, together with Amandine Cornil, a payroll-legal expert. The combination of staffing-industry operating experience and payroll-legal depth is central to the company's positioning in a segment where compliance and margin management are tightly regulated.

Why the Segment Matters

Temporary-staffing payroll in France carries rules that generic payroll platforms often handle poorly — the IFM (indemnité de fin de mission) and ICCP (indemnité compensatrice de congés payés) allowances being the clearest examples. Agencies operating at scale must reconcile payroll accuracy, compliance and margin simultaneously, which is where Pesia's AI agents are aimed.

The API-first design also reflects the reality that staffing agencies already run on ATS and CRM systems that cannot easily be replaced. Pesia positions itself as the payroll and back-office layer that plugs into those systems rather than competing with them.

Acquisition Perspective

The raise is small and early, which is typical for a company founded in the same year as its funding. For acquirers, the relevant assets are the native temp-work payroll engine, the AI compliance and margin tooling, and the founding team's combined staffing and payroll-legal expertise. The dual software-and-services structure through Pesia Conseil also provides a revenue base and direct exposure to agency payroll operations that could be valuable to a larger payroll, HR or staffing-software provider looking to enter the French temp-work segment.

No investor names, customer counts or revenue figures were disclosed with the funding.
