Ki 13 Raises $5M Seed to Advance Biomass Electrolysis for Green Hydrogen

Ki 13 Secures $5M Seed Funding

London-based deeptech company Ki 13 (formerly Ki Hydrogen) has raised $5 million in a Seed round, according to a filing dated September 2, 2026. The round was led by HICO Investment Group, with participation from Desai Ventures, Triple Impact Ventures, GiTV, and Burgest.

About Ki 13

Ki 13 is developing a proprietary low-temperature biomass electrolysis process that converts lignocellulosic residues from agriculture, forestry, and industrial side-streams into separate streams of green hydrogen and biogenic CO2. These outputs are the main cost inputs for synthetic fuels, and the company aims to produce sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF), e-methanol, and e-methane at fossil cost parity.

The company reports commercial letters of intent (LOIs) worth over $15 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) with European e-fuels producers. Ki 13 is currently building an industrial pilot plant in West London.

Leadership

Ki 13 was co-founded by CEO Koji Muto and CTO Michael Stanton.
