Maxinsights Raises $30M Seed Led by Peak XV Partners for Physical AI Data Layer

Maxinsights Closes $30M Seed Round

Maxinsights, a Santa Clara, California-based company building the data layer for physical AI, has raised a $30 million seed round led by Peak XV Partners. The round also included Alumni Ventures, South Park Commons, INCE Capital (渶策资本), and Tola Capital. The funding was announced on October 22, 2026.

What Maxinsights Does

Maxinsights pays a network of more than 5,000 contractors across six countries to wear head, wrist, and chest cameras while they cook, clean, and work. The company then turns that first-person footage into training data for robotics foundation models.

To date, Maxinsights has captured over 2 million hours of footage, of which 1.5 million hours are model-ready. The company serves more than 30 customers, including frontier AI labs, with eight on recurring contracts.

Product Launches Alongside the Round

Alongside its $30 million seed round, Maxinsights launched the MaxLoop quality-control platform and the MaxGlove tactile sensor. These products extend the company's data-collection and quality capabilities for physical AI training.

Leadership and Location

Maxinsights was founded by CEO Yuguang Yuan and CTO Kun Wang. The company is headquartered in Santa Clara, California.

Strategic Context

The seed funding provides Maxinsights with capital to expand its contractor network, grow its footage library, and commercialize its MaxLoop and MaxGlove products. The company's position as a supplier of first-person training data to frontier AI labs and robotics foundation model developers places it in the physical AI data ecosystem.

For acquisition-oriented observers, Maxinsights represents a scaled data-collection operation with a large contractor network, a substantial footage library, and recurring relationships with AI lab customers. The combination of data volume, model-ready footage, and hardware products such as the MaxGlove tactile sensor may be relevant to buyers interested in physical AI infrastructure and training data supply.
