smarli. raises CHF 2M Seed for manufacturer-agnostic smart-home platform

smarli. Secures CHF 2M Seed Round

St. Gallen-based smart-home startup smarli. has raised CHF 2,000,000 in Seed funding. The round was backed by investor Robert Sigrist.

What smarli. Does

Founded in 2023, smarli. operates a manufacturer-agnostic smart-home platform. Its integrations cover more than 3,000 device brands, allowing devices from different manufacturers to be connected into individually configured smart homes and smart offices over the existing electrical infrastructure. This approach makes the platform suitable for both new builds and retrofits.

Product and Go-to-Market

The company's Partner Engine software guides electricians, installers and energy providers through planning, installation and configuration. smarli. also develops its own hardware components.

To date, smarli. has delivered more than 150 smart-home projects across German-speaking Switzerland.

Deal Details

  • Company: smarli.
  • Headquarters: St. Gallen, Switzerland
  • Founded: 2023
  • Round: Seed
  • Amount: CHF 2,000,000
  • Funding date: September 4, 2026
  • Investor: Robert Sigrist

Why It Matters

The smart-home market has long been fragmented by competing ecosystems and proprietary standards. smarli.'s manufacturer-agnostic positioning, combined with its use of existing electrical infrastructure, targets a key barrier to adoption: the cost and complexity of retrofitting connected devices into existing buildings. Its Partner Engine also creates a channel through electricians, installers and energy providers rather than relying solely on direct-to-consumer sales.

With more than 150 projects delivered in German-speaking Switzerland, the company has moved beyond the concept stage. The Seed funding provides capital to build on that base as it scales its platform and hardware offerings.

Acquisition Angle

For acquirers in smart building, energy management or home automation, smarli. offers a platform that is not tied to a single device ecosystem. Its installer-facing software and existing project footprint in the Swiss market could serve as a distribution and integration asset. The company's hardware components add a further layer of potential strategic value.

Outlook

The Seed round gives smarli. runway to expand its partner network and continue developing its platform. As the smart-home and smart-office markets mature, integration layers that work across brands and existing wiring are likely to remain strategically relevant.
