Wormsensing is a French deep-tech company spun off from CEA-Leti in Grenoble in 2020 that develops ultra-thin piezoelectric vibration sensors and a monitoring platform for predictive maintenance, process control and quality control in industry. Its flagship Dragonfly sensor, about 150 micrometers thin and up to 1,000 times more sensitive than conventional sensors according to the company, attaches directly to machines and is manufactured on the in-house Hyperion line in France with capacity of up to two million units a year. Customers span automotive and aerospace manufacturers including Airbus, Renault, Safran and Michelin, which Wormsensing says gain on average about EUR 100,000 per machine per year through longer equipment life, less downtime and less scrap.
