Whisper Aero is a Tennessee aerospace propulsion startup founded in 2020 that develops UltraQuiet electric ducted-fan systems for aircraft, drones, defense platforms and commercial equipment. Its eQ250 propulsor is engineered to be about 20 dB quieter and roughly 20% more efficient than comparable approaches, and it began piloted flight testing on a modified Swift 3 glider in August 2026. Backed by investors including Menlo Ventures, the company builds its engines in Crossville, Tennessee, holds AS9100D and ISO9001 certifications, and runs a Nashville office.
