Wayfarer is a Tokyo-based hospitality technology company that operates its own hotels and builds the software that runs them. Founded in 2019, it manages 13 apartment-style and design hotels across Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Fukuoka and Aichi, with seven more in the pipeline and gross asset value exceeding JPY 40 billion. Its hotel-operations AI platform Materia Connect, developed in-house since 2023 and now opening to third-party hotels, connects existing property management systems, operations data and AI agents through a single API to automate revenue management, guest experience and front-line operations.
