Vitara Agritech is a Ghanaian B-Corp certified agri-tech company, founded in 2020 and formerly known as Sommalife, that builds traceable and sustainable shea supply chains in West Africa. Its proprietary TreeSyt platform digitises farmer profiling, sourcing, training and tree monitoring, connecting smallholder producers - about 91 percent of them women - to international manufacturers of plant-based oils and fats, where shea is used mainly in cocoa butter equivalents for chocolate and confectionery. The company worked with roughly 47,000 women farmers in its latest shea season and aims to reach one million farmers by 2030.
