Viridi (trading as ViridiCO2) is a UK deep-tech spin-out from the University of Southampton that develops catalyst technology for converting captured carbon dioxide into chemical building blocks, replacing fossil and palm-based feedstocks in everyday products. Its drop-in catalyst integrates with existing manufacturing infrastructure, with CO2-based surfactants for home and personal care as the first major application, commercialised through the Vireya product line. The company has a joint development agreement with Zschimmer & Schwarz and won the Renewable Material of the Year 2026 Innovation Award.
