TAR is an Austin, Texas-based energy infrastructure company that builds off-grid, modular power systems combining renewable energy generation and battery storage for AI data centers. It verticalizes the full deployment chain — site selection, engineering, procurement, logistics, civil works, construction, commissioning and ongoing operation — using a purpose-built deployment automation stack to install generation capacity faster and with less field labor than conventional construction. Co-founded by Pat Becker and Leonhard Soenke, it runs an Austin headquarters, a San Francisco engineering office and the TAR Terminal One manufacturing and logistics center in West Texas, serving AI and neocloud operators constrained by grid access.
