Skyfly Technologies is a British developer of electric and hybrid-electric vertically capable aircraft for civilian and defence markets, based in Thorpe Mandeville, Oxfordshire. Its flagship product, the Axe, is a two-seat electric aircraft that hovers on eight fixed-angle motors and cruises on its wings, with a range of more than 100 miles, a 100 mph cruise speed, a 200kg payload and a projected running cost of around £70 per flying hour, designed for private owners under the FAA updated Light Sport Aircraft rules. The company is also developing Longbow, a hybrid-electric unmanned derivative with a range of more than 400 miles for cargo resupply, ISTAR, medevac and ship-to-shore logistics, and is enrolled on the UK Ministry of Defence heavy lift challenge.
