Satlyt is a space computing software company founded in 2024 by former Google and SpaceX product manager Rama Afullo, with headquarters in Sunnyvale, California and Nairobi. Rather than building its own spacecraft, it installs an AI-inference software layer on partner satellites, either pre-launch or uploaded in orbit, so spacecraft can process data onboard, respond to anomalies and downlink only the outputs that matter. Its software has flown on demonstration missions including running Google DeepMind's Gemma model on a Momentus-operated satellite, and the company is building a virtual orbital data center network that turns fleets of satellites into shared, programmable compute nodes.
