Reverion builds reversible, container-based power plants around solid oxide fuel cell technology for decentralized energy supply. Founded in 2022 as a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich and headquartered in Eresing near Munich, the company employs more than 200 people. Its systems generate electricity on demand from biogas, natural gas or hydrogen at a company-reported record electrical efficiency of 74.2 percent while capturing the CO2 in the fuel stream in pure form, and run in reverse as electrolyzers that convert surplus electricity into storable gases, making operation carbon-negative when fueled with biogas.
