Reflex (formerly Pynecone) is a San Francisco developer-platform startup founded by Nikhil Rao and Alek Petuskey through the Y Combinator Winter 2023 batch. Its open-source Python framework lets developers build full-stack web and internal apps — frontend and backend — entirely in Python without JavaScript, and the company has since grown it into a unified platform for building, deploying and managing production applications, reporting 28k+ GitHub stars, 1M+ apps built and usage by roughly 30% of Fortune 500 companies. It launched as open source in December 2022 and in August 2023 announced a $5M seed round led by Lux Capital.
