Photon builds messaging infrastructure that lets developers deploy AI agents natively into channels such as iMessage, WhatsApp, RCS, SMS, Telegram, email and voice through its Spectrum SDK, a unified API with a hosted cloud platform and observability tools. Founded in San Francisco by Daniel Tian and Ryan Zhu, it grew out of an open-source iMessage project adopted by thousands of developers; its managed platform, launched in April 2026, offers 99.95% uptime and is SOC 2 Type II certified and HIPAA-compliant for regulated industries such as fintech and healthcare. Photon serves as the official iMessage adapter for Vercel's Chat SDK and the default iMessage layer for Nous Research's Hermes agent, with customers including Rho, Corgi Insurance, Boardy, Ditto, Fliptexts and Slashy.
