OptQC is a Tokyo-based deep-tech startup spun out of research at the University of Tokyo, developing photonic quantum computers capable of operating at room temperature and pressure. Its optical quantum computing approach aims to cut energy consumption and control complexity versus other quantum architectures, with applications spanning logistics optimization, materials development, and drug discovery. Founded in September 2024, the company has already delivered its first machine to Japan AIST.
