Numica is a New York startup that acquires small US accounting practices from owners approaching retirement and moves their staff and clients onto its own AI-native platform. The software handles bookkeeping, billing, practice management, payroll and state, federal and sales tax filings, covering roughly 75 percent of routine workflows, while the existing accountants review the output and a CPA signs the final work. Launched in June 2025, it targets practices with $700,000 to $5 million in annual revenue and serves more than 5,000 small-business clients across five states.
