MuRay Tech develops active muon imaging systems that use compact laser-plasma accelerators to generate controlled muon beams, producing high-resolution 3D images of dense metal, ceramic and composite parts that conventional X-rays cannot penetrate. Its initial focus is quality inspection of safety-critical components such as 3D-printed rocket engines, gas turbines and jet engines, with further applications in security and customs screening and, longer term, medical diagnostics. Founded by co-CEOs Andi Hektor and Kristjan Põder, the company operates from DESY in Hamburg and Tehnopol in Tallinn.
