MultiScale Instruments is a South Korean semiconductor metrology startup founded in 2023 by Seoul National University physics professor Wonho Jhe with researchers from his laboratory. It develops atomic force microscopes built on quartz-tuning-fork (QTF) sensing, which removes the need for laser optics, lets one tool carry several compact sensor heads measuring in parallel, and cuts wafer measurement times by tens of times versus conventional cantilever AFM. A deep-tech TIPS selectee, it is moving from a research-grade instrument toward multi-head equipment embedded directly in semiconductor process lines, backed by Seoul National University Technology Holdings and Korea Investment Partners.
