Molagri is a Toronto-based agricultural biotechnology startup founded in 2026 by University of Toronto PhD candidates Zaky Hassan and Min Jin. It engineers non-infectious virus-like particles that deliver a lethal genetic payload only to a targeted pest species, creating biopesticides that stay safe for pollinators and can be updated as pests evolve resistance. Its first products target pests of tree nuts and tree fruits such as navel orangeworm and codling moth, with manufacturing planned through scalable fermentation.
