MMI (Medical Microinstruments) develops robotic solutions for microsurgery and super-microsurgery. Its Symani Surgical System pairs the world's smallest articulated robotic micro-instruments with tremor-reduction and motion-scaling technology, enabling procedures on structures as small as 0.1 mm across indications such as trauma and head-and-neck reconstruction, breast cancer surgery and lymphatic repair. Founded in Italy in 2015, the company manufactures the system at its Pisa facility and was the first to have a robotic system of its kind approved by the FDA for reconstructive microsurgery in the US.
